CUG Team Win the First Prize in Academic Search Challenge of Hubei

CUG News (Correspondent, Xu Yan) CUG team won the first prize in the 3rd “Wanfang Bei” Academic Search Challenge (final) in Hubei Province. The team was granted the first prize and its instructors, Cheng Huilan and Yu Sikun from Department of Library, Archives and Museum of CUG were awarded the title of Excellent Instructors. CUG also received the Outstanding Organization Award.


Since the Academic Search Challenge of Hubei Province was launched in May this year, teachers from CUG library have organized more than 2600 students to participate in the contest and a representative team was selected to compete in the final.

The final consists of two parts: closed and open questions and on-site competition. Through many parts of fierce competition, CUG team won the first prize, with its total score ranked second.

First held in 2017 and continuing every two years, the Academic Search Challenge aims to improve the information literacy of college teachers and students, promote academic resources, bridge the digital gap, boost exchanges in the relevant field, stimulate the pride of librarians and raise the status of libraries. It has become a large-scale information literacy competition for colleges and universities in Hubei Province, with a total of 65 teams, 3,000 registrants and 111,000 respondents participating this year, with 2. Among them, 24 teams entered the final and won 1 special prize, 3 first prizes, 8 second and 12 third.
