Formulate the work plan in advance, and arrange exam work in detail.
The second-round examination is an important part of postgraduate admission, which is closely relevant to the core interests of candidates and is of great concern to them. To relieve the candidates’ anxiety, timely and efficiently plan the examination before the release of national admission scores and ensure the progress of the admission work, Graduate School issued "Notice on the Preliminary Plan for the Second-Round Examination and Admission Work for Master Degree Candidates in 2022" on March 10th. This notice required all schools to formulate a preliminary work plan on the second-round examination and admission program, decide the qualifying score and plan for the overall work arrangement. On March 14th, Graduate School issued a list of general arrangements for the 2022 postgraduate second-round examination to all schools, specifying the time requirement for the completion of all related work. According to the preliminary plan and the list issued by Graduate School, all schools made detailed arrangements and implemented targeted measures to ensure that all work would progress step by step.
Strengthen control in key steps, and regulate process management in a strict manner.
As the most critical and core part of the second-round examination, the design of test items was given a priority by Graduate School and all schools were required to arrange specific places for test design, and the test papers should be sealed on site. In order to minimize the risk and realize a closed-loop management, all papers of this examination should be stored in the confidential room under the supervision of Discipline Inspection Committee, and should be collected by the admission school half an hour in advance on the examination day and unsealed on the spot.
To standardize the process of the second-round examination, Graduate School posted the "Code of Practice for Interview Team" in every examination room, reminding the interview team of the cautions and work discipline. At the same time, Graduate School set up a special inspection team to supervise all processes of the examination in accordance with the "The Checklist for Inspection of Online Remote Second-Round Examination ".
Each school undertook the primary responsibility of admission work and was initiative to investigate the key and tough points of the online remote examination. Before the examination, the candidates' qualifications were carefully examined on the online platform of second-round examination. During the examination, candidates were strictly required for their participation in independent, and non-interference places. The "three-random" approach was adopted to ensure the fairness and impartiality of the examination. The whole examination process was projected on a large screen, with stable images, and clear audio quality for smooth online communication. The candidates should set up double camera stands on both the front and rear sides to prevent cheating and substitution. The whole process is audio and video recorded and the examination discipline was emphasized. During the examination, the leaders in charge of the CPC and political affairs of each school went on site of the examination and personally participated, coordinated and supervised admission work, hence realizing the clear division of hierarchical responsibility that should be assumed strictly.
Upgrade services for candidates, and provide a "fair and quiet" environment.
For candidates to be familiarized in advance with the online platform of remote examination, the process and related requirements, a model practice, organized by Graduate School and other schools, was carried out for all first-application candidates on March 24. To ensure the examination stably progressing, School of Earth Sciences, School of Engineering, etc. provided a second-round training for working staff on the examination day, and school leaders reiterated the work norm and examination discipline on site.
To guarantee candidates a bright, independent and interference-free environment for the examination and to ensure all candidates’ participation and safety, Graduate School initiated that all schools guarantee the easy access to Internet and make flexible arrangement of their venue resources (conference rooms, lecture halls, laboratories, etc.) as the specific venues for the second-round examination. School of Earth Resources, School of Geography and Information Engineering, School of Mathematics and Physics, etc. designated office rooms, meeting rooms, conversation rooms, activity rooms and other places for the examination, providing a warm and comfortable interview environment for candidates.
