(Correspondent Liu Meng) In the afternoon of April 29, CUG held an online meeting on the second-round examination for doctoral degree candidates in the academic year 2022-2023. The meeting was presided over by Hong Jun, vice dean of Graduate School, and attended by Wang Lizhe, executive vice dean of Graduate School, leaders of the Office of Graduate Admissions and entities with qualification of Ph.D. program admissions, and secretaries for graduate student affairs.
Wang gave an explicit introduction to the admissions in the academic year 2022-2023 in CUG, and interpreted relevant details such as the planned enrollment figures, adjustment plan for enrollment, rewards and punishments announced by the Ministry of Education. He emphasized that the allocation of enrollment figures has been taken into account the preponderant disciplines, major projects, research teams and talents at national level, and that the principle of figure allocation should be streamlined, transparent, measurable, well-founded and objective.
Hong assigned the work of enrollment, requiring the admissions committees and the second-round examination working groups to adhere to the principles of justice and fairness and to keep discipline so as to recruit eligible candidates and select the best ones. He also suggested that leaders of different schools and secretary for graduate student affairs should carefully read the admissions documents, understand the guiding principles of the meeting, and make the whole enrollment process go smoothly.
The participants also had a discussion on the details of the allocation of enrollment figure and the organization of the approaching examination.
According to the instructions from Ministry of Education and from Office of College Admissions of Hubei Province, more than 1,000 examinees will take part in the second-round examination online from May 7 to 8.
