(Correspondent, Zhang Yan) Recently, the Ministry of Education has announced the 2021 selected list of demonstration courses, excellent teachers and teams for curriculum-based political and virtuous awareness, and demonstration centers for teaching research of curriculum-based political and virtuous awareness. “Engineering Ethics” declared by CUG Professor Dou Bin was selected as one of the first demonstration courses for political and virtuous awareness in graduate education. His team and members were respectively awarded titles of excellent teachers and teams for curriculum-based political and virtuous awareness.
In recent years, with the Party’s educational policy as its guiding principle, CUG has implemented the major task of fostering integrity and promoting rounded development of people. To advance the high quality of curriculum-based political and virtuous awareness, CUG has combined the major force of teaching group, the major base of curriculum construction and major channel of in-classroom teaching. It has also promoted resource sharing and integrated the construction work into the whole process of talent training to establish all-round education.
In order to carry out the “CUG Curriculum Construction Plan for Political and Virtuous Awareness”, Graduate School attaches great importance to the construction of the relevant projects, and strives to build an optimal system of relevant courses.
These projects aim to fully implement the Party’s educational policy, accomplish the fundamental task of moral education, enrich the connotation, innovate the mode and reach the effect of curriculum-based political and virtuous awareness.
It is necessary to deeply probe into the elements of ideological and political education and the functions of moral education in professional courses and integrate these elements into the whole teaching process so as to realize the integration of course teaching and moral cultivation.
Furthermore, the features and laws of the disciplines should be combined to transfer the advantages in disciplines to talent training and bring out the inspiration, values and moral functions in courses. Hence, students are educated to love the nation, the Party and the people; their socialist core values and sense of social responsibility are established, and their scientific spirit of perseverance, inquiry, and dedication is also formed.
In addition, the course “Introduction to Earth Sciences” declared by Professor Xie Shuyun was also selected as the first ideological and political demonstration curriculum, and her team and members were respectively rated excellent teachers and teams.
